SHR 440 or SHR 840?

I've heard the 440s are quite similar in 840s for much less. So would they be a better option in terms of cost to quality or is the 840 simply worth the extra money? Also, what do both sound like, sound signature that is. I've heard neutral, though I'm unsure if that means analytical or simply balanced.

in my opinion the 840s are worth the extra 40 bucks.

for 2 twenty dollar bills the difference in sound is worth it.  at least thats how i justified keeping the 840s and getting rid of the 440s

they both have good mids.

the 840 is a little more laid back and more musical to my ears.

the 440 is a nice can seemed to have alittle less bass and sub bass to me.  didn't extend as far down.

and the 840s had a little more detail iirc

Also with the 440's there's a pretty good possibility you may end up wanting to get $20 840 pads anyway, so the potential price difference is even less.
