I just received my A867 and I've been going through my normal round of testing. I've noticed different shuffle behavior on this device than in previous models (coming from S639 and A810) and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this.
Settings:
Playback Range = All Range
Playback Mode = Shuffle
Behavior on A867:
When I drill-down to a song by artist (all range, shuffle), the player only shuffles songs from that artist. Once it has played all songs by that artist it moves to the next artist in alphabetical/list order. I would've expected this behavior only if playback range was set to "selected range". The only way to have a true shuffle is to browse by "all songs".
Old Behavior (on S639/A810):
When I drill-down to a song by artist (all range, shuffle), the player shuffles all songs by every artist (not just a per-artist shuffle). It allows me to continue to shuffle all songs on the device and browse by artist when I hit the back button.
Anyone else with a A86x notice this? Just wondering if it's by design- I prefer the old behavior as i like to browse by artist while still shuffling all songs.
