Led Zeppelin - Stairway To Heaven (5:45-5:50) - Page 2

Nothing to report on either the vinyl or an of-the-shelf CD of Mothership.

I just wonder how many of us are going to have "Stairway to Heaven" listed on our Last.fm accounts tonight from this thread?

Sorry, no "buzzing" or "cracking," but I hear a slight amount of static that changes from left to right which is probably misc. distortion from the pickups when recorded.

...now back to The Roots. o2smile.gif

I didn't notice anything myself!

Ive heard that for a long time, on various cuts. It occurred shortly after I started buying quality equipment. Damn shame too.

I guess all tracks have at least one defect in them.....I have the Gold CD of the "Bad Company" album mastered by Steve Hoffman, and I noticed a small defect in that recording....I asked on the online board at  www.stevehoffman.tv if anyone else noticed it, and my posting was quickly deleted by their moderator.

I don't see it as a defect.  Today's modern music is so overly produced and Protools-tweaked that it's completely void of the irregularities that made older-analog recordings sound "alive."

I picked up B&W P5 few weeks ago (after recently posting this thread) I needed to check if I could hear the "distortion" on this headphone. Yes it is still there.. I was kind of surprised to hear it.. although it is not as apparent as Q701. Anyways I thought I should report back.

Really really obvious on HD800's. Not quite as obvious on my BX5a monitors. Glad someone else has heard it as well.
