hello everyone!

i have a bad case of audiophilia!o2smile.gif ive tried the hd650 with the e7+e9 combo and it totally blew me away as it is my first real headphones and i really love it, but i want to take that love to the next level!gs1000.gif

i listen to a wide variety of music but mainly prefer classics

so the question is:

within a budget of 400 pounds, what is the best equipment, combinations of equipments you recommend me to buy???

amps,DAC sources etc. i just want to get the most out of the hd650 within that budget.

as a start, what do you think about the nuforce hd?

I don't know how it sounds, but there's the Micro DAC and amp from Headroom:

Hmm. Don't know how to unleash the beats under that amount. My HD650 sounds superb with my Valhalla.

...or get a Zana Deux or B22. wink.gif

Oh. I didn't see you where in the UK. Have you ever searched this? http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Best+amp+for+Sennheiser+HD650%3F

yes ive done a little research on the amps and i think the nuforce amps are pretty good, i just thought someone could suggest a better combination of amp,dac etc.

so many options!confused_face(1).gif

there are a lot of options hamoor!

make sure you do a lot of research before committing to anything. The worst case is for you to buy a whole rig and not be happy with it, then have the urge to upgrade again. The upgrade bug never stops biting unless you make it :)

I don't personally have the HD650, so I can't help you much on that. During my search I was debating between the HD650 or the dt880s and ended up with the latter.

Do you have any other hobbies? Or do you think head-fi will be one that will stick around with you for awhile?

i think head-fi can borrow my soul for a whilebiggrin.gif

it just once you stumble upon the land of high quality headphones, you just cant get enough!

you'll always lust for the next upgrade dt880smile.png

Wait for E15 to pair with E17. But for now, the quickest and cheapest upgrade would be a E10 for your E9.

You could look for a vintage receiver or integrated amplifier. $400 could get you something quite nice and probably even restored. To be quite honest, the difference between my $50 Harman Kardon HK430 and a Burson HA160D wasn't as substantial as I wanted it to be. There was an obvious difference worth maybe $300 more, but these vintage amps pack a punch for so little. It's at least worth a shot, since you'd probably be able to sell the piece for roughly the amount you paid for if you get something popular. Heck, you may even come out on top.

Aside from that, obligatory Dynalo variant (aka Gilmore Lite) recommendation. That combo made me actually like the HD650, which is something I didn't expect.

Actually, this combo would work quite well. The HD650 plus the Asgard and Bifrost. Cheap, but very lethal and has an amazing performance to price ratio.
