TubeMagic D1 - RCA to XLR Issue

Thread Starter

Hi there everyone, got a question I'm hoping you can help me with.

My Previous setup:
- Mobo optical out -> D1 -> SS out to subwoofer (RCA to RCA) & Tube out to M-Audio BX5a (RCA to TRS).
I just switched it to:
- Mobo optical out -> D1 -> SS out to subwoofer (RCA to RCA) & Tube out to M-Audio BX5a (RCA to XLR).

So the only thing I changed has been the cables going to my BX5a, switched from TRS to XLR. Now that I've made the switch the audio is so low I can barely here anything. With my first setup I would have my Windows volume maxed, the D1 at no more then 40% and my BX5a's set at 50% and that would be perfect listening volumes.
Now that I have switched to the XLR cables I have to have everything maxed and can barely hear any audio coming though.

I'm hoping I'm doing something stupid, but I can't imagine what it would be.
Thanks for the help in advance,
Bob

With unbalanced to balanced cables signal will always be lost, you want to use rca to ts which is a fully unbalanced cable.
