The AD700 would suit you better for sure. The only qualms I have for them with classical(relative to their price range of course) is their bass is....lacking to be nice about it. It can make some really powerful parts of orchestra songs just not hit as hard as I'd like unless I turn the volume and even then, it can be dissatisfying. They are also a bit sibilant sometimes. Besides that, I feel them to be superior to the Alessandros in that respect. From what I hear anyway, but if they are anything like the SR60 and SR80s, it'll be the same story.

I'm not too sure, wait around for other more knowledgable dudes to come around. I'm guessing these are for home use correct?

I can say the AD700 is still a better option than the JVC based on what I've heard.

This is what you'll get ^ i've owned them.  Not great for classical, okay for some other genres.

You may want to check out the NEW Audio technica Air T-line.  > http://www.audiocubes.com/product_info.php?cPath=23_36&products_id=3052

I don't know if anyone here has heard them. Could be they have more bass and a similar airy sound.  Would make them great contenders for classical.

Maybe some AKG k501 or k601, but they need an amp.

The new air t line is apparrently really......reallly.....REALLY bassy. Not gonna be as good as the AD700s and like I said before the 700s are great for a lot of classical but vocal stuff, especially sopranos, can be really sibilant and almost harsh.

FA-006s are great for your genres, but they are close-back, with more neutral bass than AD700s.
