Right now i only have my Ipod Nano 5th gen and i dont really want to spend money on an amp at the moment (so dont harp on me) i just want to know the sound quality that these headphones will pump out without an amp! thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out!

Wingwang, I suggest you look at the SRH 940 thread. It's filled with arguments! Lack of bass vs okay bass, similar sounding to the HD800 or not, coloured vs neutral, etc. The ones in bold are the ones I agree with.
About me: not a basshead and I prefer neutral cans above all others.
EDIT: answering your question, the SRH940 sounds fine unamped.
alright,thanks!
