Best $30 or less earbuds?

Hi,

I am looking for some new earbuds to keep in my pocket. I have had some Altec Lansing, and now have some Auvio earbuds which are horrible and close to broken. Both were less than $30

I would like to find some earbuds that sound good and are cheap enough to not worry about breaking in my pocket.

So the question I guess is what are the absolute best sounding $30 or less earbuds? I am a fan of clarity and not overly bass heavy headphones if that changes anything on the recommend. Will be listening to a wide variety of music with them so I don't want to pin them down to a certain type for the recommendation.

EDIT: Found that I am looking for IEM's maybe not called earbuds. The ones that go in your ear canal.

I would think that the Dunu Trident would be your best choice, as they are going for $29.33 right now.

Do you mean IEM or earbud?

Like, in-ear, or resting in your ear?

If you like clarity and want an earbud check out Blox M2C or Sony E931, Sony make really good cheap earbuds, make sure they're not fake.

If you want an IEM, Dunu Trident is okay-ish, I liked JVC FXC51, detai (a lot of bass however), Monoprice 8320 is all the rave now, and have a look at the Vsonic line, perhaps Vsonic GR06 if you can stretch it.

Looking for something in ear. So IEM I guess is the right thing!

JVC make teriffic cheap IEM's, but they are maad on bass, you have to EQ the bass down then they sound like $100 lol...

Would you get the JVC FXC51 or the XX?

I'd get the FXC51's (I already have them) and do this to them to make them sound their best:

On my JVC HARX34 and HAFX35 I keep all frequencies in FooBar2000 flat with 1 DB boost on the top three treble bands and I'm happy....nice instrument seperation.....clear mids....crystal clear highs with cymbals....on well recorded Jazz.... sounding right.....not overwhelming but not under presented. I'm a drummer so I listen to cymbal presentation.

Actually I can live without any EQing with these which is why I'm so impressed with them.

Knocking the low end down doesn't kill the low rumble so I guess it also has something to do with your source/amp.

I prefer a slight tilt towards bass than treble only it doesn't makes the rest of the spectrum a mess.

The JVC HAFX34 was the first iem that impressed me so maybe I'm a bit biased but I like them better than the M9. Even though the M9 has a touch better treble....the overall presentation isn't as good as the JVC.....to my ear anyway.

Take for example Lady Gaga Bloody Mary/Black Jesus....that song has gobs of low content.....on the M9 ok....on the JVC HAFX34 and HAFX35 PERFECT. Just the right amount of overhang in the bass without muddying up the rest of the frequencies and more enjoyable than on my Audio Technica ATH-A700 or HTF600.

Club in the HEAD effect with an overall clear and precise presentation.

And I find all musical genres presented very well......Smooth Jazz to Metal....Electro Pop.....Acoustic.......Rock.

To the starter of this thread:

I say for budget iem start wit the JVC HAFX35....but you need to have a good seal. The double flanged tips work best with my ears along with the LARGE CLEAR singles from Ultimate Ears.....I know you might not have those but I'm telling you what worked best for me since the foamies that JVC provides don't work with my ears.

Well I ended up with the JVC HA-FR36 which have a mic and mute controls for my phone! That was all they had at bestbuy that was similar to what was recommended. Pretty happy with them! Thanks for the recommendations guys!
