Gathering materials for custom Sennheiser cables

I am planning on recabling my HD-1 II phones and want to make a shorter cable for portable use. Here's what I've gathered so far:

Cardas connectors
http://www.partsconnexion.com/connectors_head_cardas.html

Neutrik 3.5mm plug
http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=092-333

Cardas headphone wire
http://www.partsconnexion.com/wire_headphone_cardas.html

What else am I missing here? I'm going to have my audiophile buddy who is a speaker builder solder and put these together for me so I'm trying to gather all the necessary parts.

Scratch that expensive ass wire in the first post. I searched around and found a much liked eBay seller that many people recommended on here for SPC wire.

So will the Cardas plugs in the link above fit the HD-25-1? They look much smaller in person!
