I don't know how many of you followed him or his books/speeches but i did. It is greatly sad that he has left us.

It's a sad loss to political commentary when a journalistic behemoth dies so young. Whilst I very often disagreed with Hitchins political stance and rhetoric he was a superb orator, incisive and entertaining writer, and a man of immense intellect. I will miss him greatly.

 When the time came for Merriam-Webster to pick its top word of 2011, its editors decided they needed to be pragmatic.

 

And I think Mr. Higgins was pragmatic.. we need more people like him.
