Looking to Buy Computer "HeadSet"

Thread Starter

I understand that we aren't suppose to start new threads on buying headphones, however after reading through most of the Buying headphones? Seeking guidance? DON'T START A NEW THREAD. Ask for advice HERE! thread, I found that there was almost no information on headsets.

I was directed to this site, and told that it was one of the best places to ask about buying a headset, so here I am.

Specifications:
Over the Ear
High Quality (Will last me 2-3 years)
Has a high quality mike, not some low end clip on. (I HATE clip ones!)
Am willing to spend up to a little over $100, if it is a quality headset. Otherwise $50-60 if its a lower end one.

I also fix/repair/solder headsets, so I know quality when I see it. Quality means there aren't 2 little thin pieces of wire barely soldered together, on a computer chip.

The wiring must be well done within the headset, since this is what gives a headset longevity. (The headset can look like a millipn dollars, but if its made of low quality wiring, it will not last long)

Uses: Gaming
First Person Shooters - I need to specifically be able to hear someone sneaking up to me in games like BF3, Mw3 etc.
Also needed to be able to hear which direction a gunshot or explosion came from
(I am guessing surround sound would help me here)
Movies- Surround sound isn't necessary for movies, but would be a nice addition.
Music - I don't listen to music using headsets often, so musical sound quality is not necessary.

Thank you for any and all feedback, it is greatly appreciated!

The ones i know are the PC350/360's. They have a reputation on the gaming world.

Mad lust envy talked about the 360's on his headphone gaming guide.

I was looking at the 360, and it seems AMAZING! However it does seem to be quite pricey. i wonder if it will ever drop in price.

I think the cheaper you can find the 360's is for around $200 bucks...or just wait if there's a price drop on amazon.
