Advice

Hello everyone, I am brand new to this forum. I am looking for a pair of Headphones for work. I work in a Cubicle around others, it's not that noisy and I have 2 people who I talk to for Headphone advice and I was told to get the Alessandro MS1's. I have heard good things about them and they are in the price range my wife is willing (I had to twist her arm) to let me spend. I just want to make sure they suit my needs. I will be listening to them in my Cube, plugged into my laptop.I am hoping they can drowned out the background noise without me having to turn them up too loud. I do like Bass but my taste in music varies to pretty much the whole spectrum but I rely on my 80s Hair Metal mostly. So if anyone has some advice for other ones in the $100 range I would greatly appreciate it and also talk about the MS1's too.

Thank you

That Grado/Alessandro design is almost like wearing nothing at all at low volumes -- it's as if the music you're listening to becomes a soundtrack to your life rather than the main attraction.  You can hear almost everything going on around you.  If you turn them up loud enough to drown out the things around you, you're going to be leaking a pretty good amount of sound.

I adore mine, but they do leak sound like crazy.

Sony XZ700

Shure SRH440.  You need something with good sound and isolation..These are what i would recommend.

Both these are perfect for office use.. The Sonys are less bulky than the Shures and are more comfy and has even better isolation over the Shures.  Both have good balance and clean sound..

Great feedback already, thank you. I have also come across the Marshall Headphones. Does anyone have any experience with these?
