In any case, these headphones are  winners in my books. The build quality alone is on pair, if not better than headphones 2x its cost.

My headphones dont hold their regulator positioning anymore, but nothing other than that has gone wrong with them. (after about a year of use)

I go through headphones in like 3 months intervals. :P I might keep these a little longer though. In fact, the only headphone I still have that is over a year old is my "jack of all trades" HD555. I got it on sale on Amazon for 60 and they are still my go to headphone.

I'm just putting that out there since some people might have problem getting the right fit. I've never had such a problem. They're still going great after their second cross-country trip.
Also, the regulators work just fine while the headphones are on my head.

Has anyone compared these to the Superlux HD330? They are Superlux's own Frankenbeyers

The Superlux HD330 are 150-Ohm headphones and are much more comfortable with Beyerdynamic Velour ear pads ($32-$36).

( Or I should say my HD660 are more comfortable with used Beyerdynamic DT990 V velour ear pads)

Here is a review on the HD330, HD440, HD660.

I read that review awhile ago (good review btw). Can you compare them to the Takstar 2050s?

Also, there is a seller on ebay selling cheap velour pads for $13, they look pretty nice too.

I only have the HD660, not the HD330.

So I can not really compare the HI2050s to the HD330s

But I do prefer the Hi2050s over the HD660s.

Those ear pads are Velvet, not Velour.

But the price is a lot less the Velours.

If I were you, I would get the velours and not the velvet. The velvet gives my skin some mild itch, though they are soft, they are short enough to cause discomfort. Velours are like dog/cat fur and very plush and nice feeling.

Does this seem like a reputable seller? This thread got me exited

&& Also how do the 2050's compare to the Fostex T-50RP when modded?

This is who I bought my Takstars from.

I own Takstars, but not Fostex.

I'm going to make a wild guess, I would think the Fostex T-50RP with mods would sound better.

I think the 681 with the filter mod isn't far behind either.

Speaking of velvet/velour, are the pads on the 2050 actual velour or are they a velvet?
