... and many thanks to either Vaati or Ultainferno, since the packaging did not say who the sender was.  I suspect it is from Vaati, given the longer Belgium-to-USA transit time, but thanks to whomever regardless.

I confess to being unfamiliar with Lisa, but being nearly 60 years old, I am unfamiliar with 90% of the musical artists mentioned here on Head-Fi (still don't know what "dubstep" really is), so it is always good to learn something new. I haven't broken the shrink wrap on the disc yet, but have been reading about Lisa on Wikipedia, where I always go to get background information on something that is new to me.  Sounds really interesting.  I'll try to share a listening impression later when I have the time, but just wanted to acknowledge receipt and thank the sender.

Well, I thought it might be, given the Scandinavian-Northern European angle, but I couldn't be quite sure given that there was no sender information in or on the envelope.  I'll PM you with reactions as soon as I give it some ear-time....

I got:

and:

beach-house-teen-dream-cover.png

Beach House - Teen Dream

(My CDs were shipped a little late to my partner(joeq70), as I had a close friend murdered. But they are in route to his home now.)

I wasn't familiar with either of these bands, but I am really digging the Mew album.

I got Beach House - Teen Dream from Jude in last year's exchange (of 3 CDs smily_headphones1.gif). Amazing album.

I got this one from Ultrainferno, just before Christmas:

lykke-li-youth-novels.jpg

I've listened to it once up until now. It's soft pop music with a twist, a little bit alternative. Beautiful voice this lady has (I do like this voice, Ultrainferno), heard some very nice songs.

Thanks mate!

Glad you like her voice, it's special indeed

My pleasure :)

All 3 received their gifts now, I'm just waiting for one to arrive

Dzjudz delivered quite a surprise; not one but two CDs: Birdy's debut album (very talented vocals, glad I discovered her singing) and The Naked and Famous Passive Me - Aggressive You

Thank you so much for the gift, I'm listening to TNAF right now. And thanks UE and Head-Fi for putting this together.

I hope you realize that you are listening to 100% genuine all-Belgian music:

Ultrainferno gave me a copy last year, and I enjoy Dani Kelin's vocals tremendously.

I hadn't at first. I did a little reading up after I listened the first time through the disc. And I agree, her vocals -- wow.

Thank you again Ultrainferno!

Well, I just got Vaati's gift on the last day of pre-Christmas U.S. postal delivery, and it is one of the all-time great saxaphone recordings of all time:

Saxophone_Colossus_-_Sonny_Rollins.jpg

Without knowing it in advance, we traded saxaphone albums, mine being someone I had seen in person, whereas Sonny Rollins recorded this classic while even an old codger like me was in diapers.  Many thanks, Vaati.   I'll put it in my tiny-but-treasured collection of Miles, Coltrane and Coleman discs.

Happy Holidays to all Head-Fi-ers.  Ultrainferno, there was an advisory sign on display at the post office when I sent both your and Vaati's CDs last Wednesday, December 14th that overseas deliveries before Christmas were not guaranteed for parcels mailed after the 10th.  Vaati got his in Canada in plenty of time, but I guess that Atlantic Ocean is still hard to get across.  Hopefully it will arrive before 2011 expires....

Really enjoying it so far. All kinds of Christmas music done on piano.

and...

Ripping it now. I'm a huge fan of Erik Satie.

I just shipped mine off yesterday.

Some really nice selections here. I can't believe I missed this gift exchange!

I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for next year.

I got my gift from thrak yesterday:

Excellent choice! I started the new year this morning listening to this cd and it was great. I'm not very familiar with this string music, I don't even know how to exactly call it. But I very much enjoyed listening to this in the quiet morning, this cd will definitely get more playtime.

So guys - thrak and Ultrainferno - thanks for a great exchange and for choosing out of my box, which makes the head-fi holiday exchange a nice adventure.

Best wishes to everyone
