Head-Fi 2011 Christmas Gift Exchange Whadjaget? Thread

Apologies if I'm jumping the gun on this - but it seemed like the perfect opportunity to get the "Whatdjaget" thread started - so without further adieu .......

Keeping with the tradition of having a separate thread for the gifts you received, here is this year's.  Hopefully everyone from the Gift's Exchange Sign Up Thread will post what they received.

Special thanks to Baka (Ross) and Uncle Eric for getting this excellent exchange started this year - I'm really enjoying my first at Head-Fi.

So ........ whadjaget?

My partner for 2011 is SoundFreaq (Chris)

I received tonight "Reunion" by The Flashbulb

It's a mix of IDM and ambient electronic music that has an almost 'jazzy' feel to it - and I absolutely LOVE it so far.  Great choice Chris!

He has something else heading my way soon - and I have two exclusively kiwi (NZ) CD's on their way to him shortly.  Hopefully he'll get the same pleasure I've got with his first album choice so far.

I always like these threads (it's why I made the previous 3 wink.gif).

I'm in Belgium until Christmas and my gift is on its way to the Netherlands (hopefully), so I won't know until then biggrin.gif.

The Flashbulb is fantastic music. Lucky you!

I did an early exchange with a Head-fier and here's what I got from him:

We exchanged music from local artists who's stuff isn't really available. I was surprised by this album though. It's Ukelele music and I never thought it would really be my style, but I've found it really awesome when I'm feeling like crap. I can't be upset or sad when listening to it.

that flashbulb group is pretty neat
first group i've heard to actually utilize circuit bending in anything other then just making some noise

My partner, BGRoberts, sent me Jimmy Buffett's "Far Side of the World." It's my first Jimmy Buffett CD and I'm quite enjoying it so far. It's a nice album to sit back and really listen to.

Glad you like it. The other one that's still on its way I like even more.

Yes, Lovestrong. Lucky you didn't have it yet :)

Already posted in the other thread, but my partner sent me Sanctuary, by Arvo Part. And it is heavenly.

I got a Daft Punk collection from Swatcsi.

It's a pretty good introduction to a band I'm not that familiar with, and some excellent mastering.

Here's the CD I got from chef8489 today...

Teen goth symphonic metal at it's finest!

I'm feeling a strange urge to go shopping at Hot Topix. I'll be strong and resist the temptation, but I will definitely be exploring more of this genre thanks to chef. Good choice!

Glad you like it, but only in this country would I refer to teen goth music.
