does the bruson 160d put through enough juice to drive k701s?

in the same context as ' what to dive k1000's or LCD's ' with - i looked a the spec sheet for the 160;the output pwr is if i read correctly 250mW.

so, do AKGS not demand high juice in the miin?500-700mWrange and up to and through 1W to raelly get them going and explore what the can do?  Low imp but relatively hefty power reqs for moving the speakers/trans well.

Not just about loud-volume control isn't necessarily showing whether or not the phones are sounding good because of driven power

your post is confusing, but yes the burson 160d is more than enough for an AKG K701.

According to the AKG website, the MAX input power for the K701 is 200mW

I have AKG Q701s  (which are basically K701s).

I find that these 'phones are far easier to drive than legend would have it!wink_face.gif

Youcan actually run Q701 s off an iPad, but don't expect audiophile sound and tons of volume.

I would think that the Burson would have absolutely no trouble properly driving K701s.

I have seen some positive feedback from people with Akg phones, check this thread:

The Burson has an output impedance of 5.6 ohms, low enough to work quite well with the K70x series.

Keep in mind that 200 mWatts is all the K70x series will take, more power than that, you will destroy the headphones.

The important thing is that 200 mWatts will blow your head off, it's way too loud.frown.gif

By my calculations, 16 mWatts is 105 dBs into a pair of K70x series. Enough to fry your ears.

I got this off the box my Q701s came in.

Yes, checkout Headfonia's review on it.
