Hi, last night i finaly took the plunge and bought a Fubar 4 plus direct from the companys EU dept. it was an impulse buy as it was reduced to £160 inc postage when they normaly sell at around £320, so i thought atleast... Ive now contacted them and canceled my order (brilliant customer service finaly enough)
the reasons for me canceling my purchace were:
Buying what seamed outdated tech in a rapidly progressing market seamed like a waste of time
I would of been putting money into a headphone amp that i wouldnt be using so that money was being wasted
after doing a small amount of research i found there to be so much competition i didnt know enough to make an informed decision...
I found Schiit's Bifrost which looked pretty promising (but is pushing my budget as far as it could possiably go and then a little more, the things we do eh?
the top end of my budget is about £200 i can get more but nothing more substantial than postage on top realy :)
Im planing on using the Mini toslink to toslink to conect the dac to my amp (pioneer precision a300r) speakers http://www.xtz.se/uk/products/speakers/93-wmt_2 and active sub http://www.bkelec.com/hifi/Sub_Woofers/XLS200-DF.htm (not mkii) - i currently run a 4m 3.5mm jack to phono from my laptop to the amp, will a cheep toslink be ok to replace this?
TO SUMMERISE - WHAT WOULD YOU RECOMMEND FOR A DAC UNDER £200 - AND DID I MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION CANCELING MY ORDER?
Many thankyou's in advance!
