rega rp1 to sherwood rx-4109?

Hi, Im considering buying the RP1 but after that, my wallet is kinda slim to spend on anything else. So I was considering getting the sherwood rx-4109 since it has the phono inputs and I dont have to worry about getting a preamp. But would it be a "disservice" to the RP1 to do that?

Thanks!

You do have to consider what the RX-4109 is offering at such a low price....a full-fledge stereo receiver that can power both speakers and headphones, provide switching of sources and provide a stereo tuner.  Its phono pro-amp can not compete with inexpensive stand-alone phono pre-amps such as those from Parasound and Cambridge Audio, but it's certainly serviceable.  I got mine new during a Black Friday sale at Radio Shack for $60.00 and I'd say it's a bargain for all that it does.
