I started the year with some nice equipment and vague ideas of what to get next. And now I'm ending the year with a totally different (and much nicer) system than I thought I would: an HE-6, a vintage receiver to power it, and a quality DAC for the source. While I've got idle notions of what to do next I don't feel motivated to do anything about it right now; I'm still having a lot of fun with what I've got. The most likely addition to the stable in 2012 will be custom IEMs, since it looks like I'll away from home at least as much next year as I was this year.
Attended two meets in the Detroit area and a mini-meet in Vancouver. Headphone meets are great - you get to see the people behind the avatars, you get to try things you'd only read about, find out what some serious commitment to an end-game system sounds like, and everybody's willing to answer questions and chat. I heartily encourage everybody to attend one. (There's one coming up in 2012 in North Carolina - just sayin'.)
