Other than that, I might try the Ultrasone hfi 780 with the Zo, btw i DID notice some HARSH highs with the xb500 at 7 or 8 out of 10 in my iphone 4 volume, the mids and lows sound great from my ipod, but the highs sometimes heard, any headphones that i should steer away from that may be like this but that add bass?

If you find the Sony XB500 harsh stay well away from Ultrasones. The XBs are extremely laid back with little to no highs, the harshness comes from your iPhone. A DAC/amp like the Zero I've pointed out to you for $100 would give you a great starter setup for electronica, I've already pointed you in the direction of Foobar and EQ software that you've seemingly forgotten. Also ignore pricing; for Dubstep/DnB I find the Sony XBs better than the HFI-780 and as a result sold the Ultrasones. Moving up in sound quality means taking a massive hit in the bass department; The Audeze LCD-2 are said to be excellent with electronica but there's always those wanting more bass, that's also a $2,000 setup when all is said and done.

I see, and yeah, I'm still considering the zero vs fiio e10 , i just dont find that many comparions, and how about foobar vs cowon? but those are players arent they? what do they have to do with amp/dac?

You won't see many comparisons between the Zero and E10 really because if you have one you don't need the other. They're going to be very similar with the Sony XBs, headphones that require more power may benefit from the larger transformer of the Zero. Furthermore the Zero is a DAC and an amp, the DAC is basically your soundcard, you can connect this to your computer via USB, or to your PS3/Xbox via an optical cable.

Foobar is software that runs on your computer, similar to itunes/winamp. Cowon is a mobile device like an iPod.

I'll download the Foobar, and remember, the e10 is also a dac/amp.

Cowon plays better than the iphone 4 but i already an iphone have  and would get an amp/dac so it's not worth it i'm thinking...Do you know of any good Dac only for about 60-100 bucks? Since i plan on trying out the Zo2 as my amp...everyone seems to love it especially with the xb500's!
