Obviously not, I just want something near it's quality, or at least, like i said, AN UPGRADE IN QUALITY FROM THE XB500 without losing thaaat much noticeable bass..i mean it cant be hard for some 60 dollar headphones right? Other than that, I might try the Ultrasone hfi 780 with the Zo, btw i DID notice some HARSH highs with the xb500 at 7 or 8 out of 10 in my iphone 4 volume, the mids and lows sound great from my ipod, but the highs sometimes heard, any headphones that i should steer away from that may be like this but that add bass?
If you find the Sony XB500 harsh stay well away from Ultrasones. The XBs are extremely laid back with little to no highs, the harshness comes from your iPhone. A DAC/amp like the Zero I've pointed out to you for $100 would give you a great starter setup for electronica, I've already pointed you in the direction of Foobar and EQ software that you've seemingly forgotten. Also ignore pricing; for Dubstep/DnB I find the Sony XBs better than the HFI-780 and as a result sold the Ultrasones. Moving up in sound quality means taking a massive hit in the bass department; The Audeze LCD-2 are said to be excellent with electronica but there's always those wanting more bass, that's also a $2,000 setup when all is said and done.
