Beyer DT990Pro & Behringer Micromon MA400 Help

Hello, I recently purchased both of the above. I'll be blunt. What is the correct/optimal way of setup for use of these, connected to my PC.I have a 3.5mm silver plated stereo cable. To when I connect the stereo cable into the amp, than the headphones with a 1/4 adapter, it's quiet & I get a slight hiss in the right side. When I plug the headphones directly into my computer, without the 1/4 adapter, I get an annoying quiet sound coming form the headphones. Almost like the sound an old printer would make. Though, without going through the amp, they become much louder. I use Realtek HD Audio Manager.

When I plug my headphones directly into my Sansa Fuze, there is no hiss, and it is able to power them better than both other options.

So pretty much, what would be the correct setup. If I need to purchase a new or different, better cable please suggest some. Thank you.

Any help would be appreciated.

Here is a picture of the amp.

Where are all the audiophiles now?

If you plug into your computer and hear that annoying hissing noise, you have poor electrical grounding inside of your computer. You'll have to buy a new DAC to remove that noise, sadly. The noise is being added because of the hardware that the sound is coming out of and no amp or cable will fix that.

The cheapest option is to use a Behringer UCA202 or Creative X-FI Go DAC and feed that into your amp.

This is why integrated audio sucks, unfortunately.

You'll reduce the hissing if you plug it in the back of your computer instead of using front panel audio. Front panel audio for the most part is a sham because the audio is destroyed through electromagnetic interference.

Definitely try this. I have monster static from my front audio port, but my back one is fine. If you still have hissing from there, then a DAC is definitely needed.
