What Is Better?

I recently purchased the new Fiio E10 and I must say it is a great buy. I never had a dedicated DAC/AMP and I always used the on board Realtek sound card. I have a question though...

 

What is better, turning the volume within Windows all the way up and use the Fiio volume knob to regulate the desired volume level or turn the volume on the Fiio almost all the way up and play with the volume within Windows?

Turn the windows volume to max or even better use the wasapi plug-in, and control the volume with the fiio's pot.
