Can't Decide...I'm A Bass Hound - Page 3

Better than the Radius DDM 1 too? Interesting. BTW, I listened to the DDM2. A step backwards if what you want is bone-tingling bass.

Alright well guys first of all, Merry Christmas!

Now it looks like you guys have some great iem suggestions for me as to what Im looking for. Does anybody know how the size and bass of the sennheiser ie8 compares with that of a Westone 3/um3x? I'm hoping they will fit me. It's gonna be easier to return the ie8s via amazon than the westones unless the order is marked "Fullfilled by Amazon.com"

I hope it's only 10 posts before I can post up the pics of the tips I use on my MTPG so you guys can see them.

The problem I have with the other brands you guys recommend is finding a good return policy for them in case they don't fit me properly. So I'm not ignoring your suggestions I just don't wanna get stuck paying restocking and return shipping fees. I have to find a pair that is the right size for me and so far it's my MTPGs that fit my ears perfectly.

I can recommend the Miles Davis Tributes as having better bass than the golds and should fit your ears just as well as the golds and they are an upgrade in overall sound quality, or if you want more bass than the monsters can deliver  ,and some more bass on top of that go get the tfta 1xb  .

Be warned, if you return too many items per year, amazon may ban your account - so be warned.

Get the IE80s, they are the best for bassheads.

Have you even heard the IE80's to be suggesting them?

In my country, there are shops that allow you to audition IEMs and headphones. So getting an IEM isn't usually a problem for me.

ANYBODY KNOW HOW MANY POSTS I NEED BEFORE I CAN POST PICS?

Anyways, I haven't made that many returns to amazon. I have only made 3 this year including the tf10s.

What is the difference between ie80 and ie8, technical data on Sennheiser website looks the same for both. On paper usually doesn't mean much for me thats why I'm here ksc75smile.gif

It's a price difference of about $125 for me so I would like to know the difference seeing as ie8s on amazon go for $325

I will be writing another post regarding shures for "accurate/balanced listening" so I can get the best of both worlds. So please, nobody call me a hypocrite or ask why I'm looking for shures if I wanted bass response, m'kay guys???

In summary, there seems to be a difference of opinion, but it's best you visit the dedicated thread for more information. smile.gif

IE80s have slightly better highs, not enough to warrant a "big difference" but still better. Also, the IE80s have a closer soundstage, not being too wide like the IE8s or too close like the UM3x. The bass is plenty even in the level 1 configuration and I'm sure this would satisfy any bass head, given the right configurations.

Bassheads should go and buy Hippo VB, I got myself a nice xmas present recently, after about 50-60 hrs burn in...WOW!!!

Excellent for hiphop/rnb, the bass go deep, very deep, but does not bleed to midrange/highs at all, absolutely fantastic, listening to A Milli (Lil'Wayne) with this beast is such a joyful experience
