So, I have been wondering, which earplugs do you guys use as say, your train ride plugs? And anyone tried custom plugs? Currently using 3M EAR classic plugs as my in train/bus plugs and "upgrading" to an ER-20 soon.

I don't use any, but my wife who is a professional musician uses the ER20 during loud performance sessions.

Interesting thread, as i've been thinking about getting a "fancy" pair of ear plugs.

Any idea where you can buy these ER-20s in Canada? Everywhere i check they're $35!

http://www.etymotic.com/dealerlocator/ use this. Seems like the ER20s are the most prevalent earplug model on headfi.

PS: http://www.etymotic.com/hp/# looks like they are going to release a new line of electronic earplugs for musicians too.

I use two, Alpine Flyfit while flying, and WorkSafe for other uses. They're very soft and much more comfortable than any other type I've tried. EarPlanes in particular become excruciatingly painful after a few hours, and can only be used once or twice - total crap. Another benefit to the Alpine is the very short stem that doesn't stick out of your ear. This makes them a bit more discrete, and also means that I can wear them underneath my Denon NC-800 noise cancelling headphones. The two of them together are an awesome combo while flying.
