My Wife noticed 128 kbps VS 320 kbps on her car stereo?

This was one of the most amazing things for me so I thought I'd share it. My Wife has an SD card reader in her car stereo. I put mp3 files of different quality for her to listen to as she drives. The other day she says " Can you replace this song in HD? "

 

About 99% of her music is at 320 kbps so I was totally amazed this 128 kbps file stood out to such an extent she wanted it to be replaced. 

 

This really would not be a big deal except that she cares nothing about HI/FI. The other totally funny thing was it was a Britney Spears song. I hope she does not get into headphones next!

 

I can hear a difference but only because I know the kbps. Somehow she could tell! Amazing!

Your wife is paying that much attention to the Radio in her car? Maybe it is true what they say about them Female drivers!!

 

Britney Spears usually will have a bunch of left and right channel movement in her songs, like sounds going from the left to the right for example. In other words she didn't her the difference in the mp3.

 

 

Instead of upping her kbps why don't you suggest to her paying MORE attention to what is happening outside the car then the radio inside..for the safety of everyone. Also get her into listening to headphones and high end audio more, Tell she has "the gift", this will help you when you want to upgrade later on!

Yes, maybe a coincidence. She is a great driver. Only when I'm on the back of her motorcycle do I yell.

Well, you know, Britney voice in her songs are auto-tuned, sometimes so much it become distorted. Maybe the 128kbps bit rate UPPED those distortion even MORE. No wonder she noticed it. :D
