What headphones are you currently rocking? - Page 8

Beyer DT990 '05...sitting in my closet because I don't have a source good enough to enjoy them right now.

Listening through a coby gumstick and my Klipsch Custom 3's and am very happy. All I'll say is that the Coby 305 has a useful output impedance. IPod just doesn't cut it with ba's, I probably need a Clip+...

The ESP 950 is one of THE BEST audiophile bargains right now at $600. I think some people read about the included energizer holding it back and see the build quality and decide not to bite, but even for the headphones alone I think $600 would be a really fair price. Also the performance with the included energizer isn't that bad. It's actually quite good. Funny thing is, that energizer is better built than some boutique amps that go for twice the price.

Of course, a different energizer will vastly improve things. Re-terminating the ESP 950 with a Stax plug and running it off something like the KGSS seriously puts it in direct competition with the Sennheiser HE60 imho. Not bad for a $600 headphone from Koss. As for built quality--- they offer a lifetime warranty.

Damn. This talk has made me want to buy it again. Hmm...

Rocking Sennheiser IE80. Loving how Sennheiser managed to fix the problems with the IE8. Its like a new IEM to me, much more balanced than before and no EQ needed at all...

Thank you for the ESP 950 placing. Really helps. And makes sense (I've been trying to quantify or place how 950 sounds out of a decent amp (KGSSHV very_evil_smiley.gif) for awhile now. bigsmile_face.gif Having only heard it out of an Extata. This makes perfect sense! Thank you!
