Fiio E10 vs DACmini CX comparisons and thoughts

So i've just ordered a Fiio E10 and and pair of HD598's and should get them tomorrow.

I'm thinking at this stage about getting a pair of HD650s and a DACmini CX as an upgrade next year but then began reading about the DAC used inside the DACmini and it seems the Wolfson WM8740 (used in E10) and the AK4396 (used DACmini cx) are mentioned in the same breath, that is to say as if they both operate in the same league of quality.

I know the DACmini came out a few years back and the E10 has only recently been released on the market. Could someone who owns both, or someone with technical knowlege of how such things are constructed, tell me whether in terms of quality one is vastly superior to another because the DACmini retails at around £550 and the E10 at only around £100. Is there a huge difference between sound quality when using both, say with the HD650, or is there something very special in the water at Fiio HQ?

the fiio e10 is a portable dac/amp and the dacmini is a desktop dac/amp. i haven't heard the e10, but the dacmini is a great amp/dac, very transparent, detailed, i think its neutral sound sig would be a good pairing with the hd650

No, E10 is a desktop only DAC and amp. E3, E5, E7 and E11 are portable. E9 and E10 are not.
