As for the other amplifiers you listed, I would be surprised if the Violectric products were coloured in any way: I thought they shot for objective goodness. Of course, there's the standard caveats - failure to volume match can transform sound/not blind ect...

The Violectric stuff is a little coloured ~ just a tad on the warrm side, the most neutral 'to my ears' was a

Class A Sugden Masterclass HA-4.

Looks like I got my figures mixed up with the V200 output impedance, there appears to be some disagreement
here and there across the V90/V100/V181/V200 range but yes it does appear to be much lower than 10ohms
as I stated, many are reporting under 2ohms ~ corrected on my end!
 
This makes some of my testing of late with the Phonitor, V200 and Sugden all the more strange now.
