Gift Idea! HD 280 Pros...but For Heavy Metal junkie?

I've been doing some research on this site for a while and have decided on a great headphone to get for my brother. He wants good isolation (annoying parents and get away from the world feel). But I've also read that Grado is better for heavy metal so now I'm a little stuck because my budget is less than $120 and I was so set on the Sennheiser HD280 pros I even have them in my Amazon checkout :( I'm a newbie so you might have to spell stuff out for me. Just need a push in the right direction. Amazing isolation and anything that makes heavy metal...errr rockin'. (Yes I am quite lame).

And how about for me? Any good over the ear closed isolation headphones that are good for game soundtracks? (W.o.W music, Zelda). For me, less than $100. They'll just be plugged into my Dell so I don't need to splurge on myself. But my brother's a musician, a bassist and a vocalist. So his needs are far greater than mine.
