Is it important to level the CD player?

I'm not saying the CD player is way off center, but is it important to accurately level the CD player like you do with turntables?

1s are 1s. 0s are 0s. With error correction, you aren't going to get a 0.857 if your player is a little bit off center.

Well, if it's a crappy CD player, it might scratch the disks. But if that's the case, you probably need a new CD player, anyway.
