How often do you 'rediscover' your headphones?

Thread Starter

For the past year I've been listening to my audio through either speakers or my trusty Sony V6.

I have a pair of Grado SR225 and a misplaced 1/4" to 1/8" extension that I just sort of forgot about. To prove how utterly lazy I am I just stopped using them as I was more than happy with the sound from my other sources.

Rewind to a couple hours ago when I got the bright idea to stop being lazy and actually LOOK for the extension. After some digging around I end up finding the extension in the most obvious of places.

Dust them off, plug them in and WOW.

It felt like getting new headphones and for the past 2 hours I've been enjoying that sexy Grado sound that I forgot about.  I remember them being fun cans to listen to but completely forgot about the BASS these things pound out (compared to the V6's at least .... )

I'm only using 2 pairs of headphones but do you guys with several headphones ever 'forget' about a pair and pull them out after a while and rediscover them like they are a new pair?

I sometimes did.. actually, and I only have 5 phones, which is nothing compared to the guys here that have more than 5.

I bought my headphone with a certain order, which is to do a coverage of freq spectrum, but my Ultrasone HFI680 has been sitting around catching dust since it is too neutral to my liking and its my first serious phones, but one day I decided to use them and play some instrumental acoustic music, and voila.. I fell back into its arm hahaha..

cheers,
