DT770 or DT990 Pros? Gaming and bass-heavy music!

I come from the Triple Fi 10's clarity which is really amazing but i sold them because not enough "basshead" bass, especially sub bass.

I Don't care much for isolation or sound leakage, all I want is the best bass/quality/vocal presence/clarity.

Btw, what's the diffrence of 770 and 770 pro? Which one has more bass?

Thanks for helping me on my quest of the best headphones I can currently get ^_^

What are the biggest diffrences from the dt770 and dt990? Sound wise.

http://www38.zippyshare.com/v/53428158/file.html = sub bass @ 0:58 and a kickass starting bassline with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ge7YR77jHwQ

Most of my music is VERY bass oriented!

I have owned:

DT770 Pro 80
DT770/600
DT990/600
and this Tuesday, I'll be getting the DT990 Pros, which I believe is probably well suited for your needs.. In terms of sheer sound quality, the DT990s trump the DT770s for me, and they have sub bass like a closed can. The DT770 Pros and DT770/60 had severely overblown bass at times. The DT990's treble is polarizing. Pick your poison.

Will you have them in your hands themselves by tuesday? You might be my life savior if you can compare their bass :D!! and overblown bass but if its 60ohms they are easier to drive (than 250ohm) meaning just an E10 would do it right? since i also need a dac for my PC...

btw, polarizing treble??

Sorry, that was a typo, I meant 600ohms. The DT770/600 are supposed to be bass light, but me and Zombie have personally heard a variant of the 600ohm DT770s that had an uncomfrtable amount of bass. I am a bass man myself, and it was too much.

I will get my DT990 Pros this Tuesday afternoon. There was literally no comparison between the DT770 Pro 80 and DT990/600 I had. The DT990 was better at everything but isolation (obviously). The DT770 Pro 80 has a major sub bass presence which can detract from the rest of the sound. The DT990's bass is powerful, but didn't smother the rest of the sound. I believethe DT990 pro will have a bass that is in between the premium DT990 and DT770 Pro 80, which is all good for me.

Polarizing treble in that it is love/hate. There is a LOT of treble in the DT990. There is a lot on the DT770 Pro as well, but not as much.

The Beyers need more power than the E10. The E11 would be better, and the E9 would be best out of the Fiios.

How about the Xonar DG sound card for my computer, so that its quality is better than onboard, and then the e9?

Frankly, I'll just wait for your comparison on tuesday :) It will mean the world to me!

Soundcards don't tend to have powerful amp sections. I'm not a sound card guru, but I assume your soundcard has a line out? If it does, you can feed that to the E9's line in. Not sure though. What exactly do you own?

Line out as in something other than insert for headphones?

TIE BREAKER: "So the 990's just arrived in the mail and I've been listening for about 20 minutes. For starters (because some people may wonder), I'm powering them with a go-vibe through Novation X-Station. Immediately I can say for sure the bass on the 990's doesn't compare to the 770 pro/80's. The 770's are simply monsters (yet the monstrous bass doesn't make them sound necessarily bad). The 990's are more refined overall though. The highs are definitely more prominent. My ears are sensative to highs so I think I actually like the fact that they're a bit washed up on the 770's. Overall, I think for the money the 770's are the better value. 770's are more fun and easier to drive."

Thank you all and a good night.

P.S. Too bad they are so ugly :'( (lol :p)
