Since I went balanced on the 8A, I have not gone back to single ended, I may try in the weekend and will reply back.

I also find a big difference with 5.0 balanced. My beautiful Magnus is resting in the box. Great IEMs!

The Magnus cable has 4 wires through its entire lenght, so all you have to do is fit a balanced connector to it... wink.gif

Sorry for double posting.

And I can't actually use a 3.5 to rsa adaptor - stopped and thought about it - going from 3.5 to balanced would actually be balanced.

It's so nice to be able to have conversation with oneself. smily_headphones1.gif

I was told that the Line Out of the DX100 is a true balance out...just need a 3.5mm balance plug to RSA mini I/C

My TF10 had an unforeseen accident and needles to say is destroyed.  Just a week before, my null audio cable arrived (this is actually part of the reason for the destruction, lose connection but anyways).  Given the situation I'm thinking of purchasing the Heir 3.Ai.  I would pull the trigger on the purchase if I knew the null audio cable for my TF10 would fit the Heir 3.Ai.  From the pictures the terminal looks similar but I can't be certain.  Can anyone with a TF10 and Heir 3.Ai confirm that the wire terminal are compatible?

Spkrs this could be why the Hifiman RE262 with its balanced cable worked on my DX100. But I think it even worked from the 3.5 jack....

No it will not fit, as the OD for the TF10 is reportedly .72mm, the pin size for Custom IEMS is .78mm.  The bottom line is, the cable will not fit.

That said, you could in theory, send your cable in, and have it re-terminated with .78 pins at Heir Audio.

But I know some company provides both 72/78 mm pin for customers to choose for. Did Heir provided too?

No, and that is generally done when a company "re-shells" and the .72 socket is salvaged from the original IEM houseing.  Heir Audio does not offer re-shell service

Enjoying my work this morning. Why, you ask?

Well, the coffee in my cup isn't the sludge from the office, I brought my own, made from freshly gound Kenyan beans. The coffee on its own is not enough to make distributed md5sum checks fun, so I have my DX100 feeding the Rendition 1 which in turn is pumping Anjunadeep into my 8.A's etysmile.gif

This combo is stupidly good. Not just because of the bass that make my eyeballs vibrate, but because I can switch to classical and the 8.A will make the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Yes, the 8.A is very, very expensive (see my signature). But it is the first and only headphone I have experienced that will pop my eyes out with Rammstein AND let me get completely carried away by Rachmaninov.

I do have other headphones than the 8.A. For backup.
