Sometimes my 8.A's catch me off-guard when I'm wearing them. I'll just be sitting, designing, coding, whatever and suddenly something about a particular song just hits me. The quality of the bass, how perfect the rest of it sounds, how cohesive it all feels... It's so perfect that I find it hard to continue.

I'm having to work doubly hard just to keep my productivity up.

Worth it.

I know what you mean. Although I generally don't find the 8As nearly as distracting as my other IEMs.

Define distracting...I find myself getting lost in the music...minutes...hours...days...weeks pass by.  Seriously I can wear my 8A's for extended periods of time without any discomfort.  I just received my ODAC, JDS was kind enough to put it in a full size C5 case for me so it stacks perfectly with my portaphile, and I am blown away by the sound so far...it is certainly reviving my older music collection.  Dire Straits sounds phenominal.

Distracting to me means I am supposed to be working and my eyes are closed and I am just listening. Maybe no so much distracting as they are bad for sustained productivity. I have gone back to using the remolded TF-10's at work and using the 8a at home.

.

I am waiting for the Centrance HiFi M8 so I can use the new cable (4 pin XLR, silver cable) with the 8a. I want to be totally blown away. (Yes, I know these things need to be broken in and understood before sounding their absolute best.)

.

I know the first song I will listen to also; a lossless recording of "Money for Nothing". Great call Poimandres!

It blew me away. Walk of life did as well, hell the whole sultans of swing album is incredible. Interested in hearing your thoughts on the m8 paired with the 8a. I very much enjoyed the dacport lx except I wanted something that I could stack.

What I find distracting is when you can't forget about it and not focus on it. I can easily do that with the 8As since its presentation doesn't really pop up so much. It's more of a mellow presentation. The Flat4 and 1Plus2 you just can't do that. It just forces you to listen and when you try working on projects it's really distracting because you can't focus on the project at hand and instead are focusing on the music lol. With the 8A I'm much more apt to be able to do both.

Sorry about the tracking play by play guys, my apologies

When mine comes in the plan is to hook them up to my CLAS -db and Leckerton UHA-6S MKII with op amp 209. I've been wondering though if maybe I should upgrade my chain with an amp that receives a balanced in from the CLAS and has a balanced out to the 4A. You guys think if I maybe went with say a Ray Samuels Intruder or ALO RX MKIII and got a mini XLR terminated cable for my 4A it would be worth it?

Glad you like it. What about the fit? The 8As will get noticeably more sensitive with usage. The Studio V pairs decently with the 8A but the N1 on the Wooduo setting pairs extremely well :).

The Studio V isn't bassy if anything the Studio V is pretty transparent and won't add much to the signature and will step out of the way and let the gear do the talking. Do you mind throwing up a link to where you bought that cable. I'm thinking of commissioning a special cable for my 4A's.

Not really lol. I generally don't find the bass to be an issue. On the N1 it has better bass presence to it and more texture in particular in that area. The Wooduo preset just  really balances out the 8As sound and keeps it so musical at the same time. Like mid centric with a well balanced sound stage. Thing is Hisound is suppose to be releasing a firmware update to allow for lower volume listening which is one of my main gripes with the N1 at this point (also fade in of FLAC files).

@DigitalFreak. Lightningfarron also owns the Studio V 3rd ANV like us. :).
