try and get a listen with a Z1070 (any non-Euro WM-Z will suffice), I'd be well interested with your findings with the 8.A.

I said buy the best - not the most expensive. If I wanted an example of fast & finicky, I would have mentioned the Maserati Quattroporte or just about any Italian car really. I prefer ze Germans. My ultimate dream car (if I had to drive it every day) is the previous generation Audi S6. The one with the 5.2 V10... No turbos, no nonsense, just 5.2 litres of F... you, Greenpeace! The sound from that thing is absolutely astonishing.

Hello everyone, I'm new to the audiophile community. I'm still thinking about what I want to get though. I started out wanting either the Sennheiser HD 598 or the Grado SR325is. But then I learned about custom IEM's and started thinking more about how often I would be able to use the other 2 headphones. Since the sound bleeds through and they're not practical for use outside the house. I'm now seriously considering the 3.A's. I just wanted to get some input from you guys about the sound quality of these IEM's compared to the sound from headphones like the HD598 or Grado SR 325is. Are they as good or better than them? Also I was wondering if its possible to put rubber tips on the ends of custom IEM's to share the sound with someone else? Any help is appreciated!

It's an expected part of diving, but not custom iems. Maybe my ears are more sensitive to pressure than most, I'm not sure. I do recall having "tubes" put into my ears as a child, a sort of routine minor surgery at the time, the purpose of which I haven't the foggiest. I just don't like the sensation of wearing customs - there is zero pain involved, not even mild soreness...they are just too distracting to really enjoy the music fully. Some days seem better than others, however. Honestly, some days they're more tolerable.

Maybe silicone customs would suite you better. Or universals, yeah.

(By the way, the 4.A has made my subway commutes a lot more bearable!... which also means that all those car references are flying right over my head.)

Reason no. 3,598,345 why CIEMs are worth the money: Replace the horrid, grinding, annoying sounds of a daily commute with pure, pleasant, wonderful music.

Mine isolate so well I didn't even hear the F-150's tired screech as it came racing up from my blindspot.

I'm a cripple now, but man does my music sound good.

I am very sorry if this happened to you.
Please do not joke about it if it did not.

Sorry, Peter

Heir Audio USA in San Diego received my ear impressions earlier today. Waiting to hear back to know whether they pass the test and will be shipped to China.

UPS is really crappy. The target delivery is supposed to be today and it still stuck in HK!

Chinese customs officials are beyond the control of even the mighty UPS. Of all the carriers I've dealt with world wide, I actually prefer UPS.

I had the same issue with UPS, they are hopeless. My pair arrived in the UK then went back to China then Germany, according to their tracking  confused.gif. To make things worse, they apparently tried to deliver it yesterday but I was at home all day and no card was left behind. Quite pissed off right now. I can't believe I might have to travel to their depot outside London after paying  $55 for a small package mad.gif
