Yea customs. Also, just have another silly question. The cleaning brush thing that came with the package. Theres a metal circular type of thing in one end. I assume thats for scraping out wax inside the CIEM hole correct? I should be scraping that against the edges inside and should expect that to be safe and no damage can occur right?

I think they are quite comfortable. I only had them for about an hour now. These are my first IEMs. 

 

When I got my impressions done, the audiologist said no bite block. He said to leave my jaw in an open jaw position and just relax. Even when I showed him my instruction sheet, he insisted that open jaw position is best without a bite block.

 

Please advise. 

With my 8.A, the 50hz tone booms like I'm in a club.

I have a minor fit issue with my left IEM. The issue really only occurs when I'm walking or if I open my jaw. I've decided it's a small enough issue not to warrant a refit. I bought a set of Comply Soft Wraps and wrapped them around the left IEM. The seal is absolutely perfect now. While using Comply Soft Wraps might not be the most ideal solution in the long term, I know now from the placement of the Soft Wraps where I need to add a bit of layering if the IEM is modified. I'm going to check with a local audiologist about the best material to make a permanent alteration. The Wiz suggested lacquer, but I'm unsure about what exact type of lacquer, and or if lacquer could cause skin irritation.

The Asgard 2 is designed to handle IEM's as well.

My 8.A's have done something that my 4.A's never did: They have made me wonder what HD music would sound like with them. I spent the last year slowly updating my library to the point where the vast majority was lossless and what wasn't lossless was almost entirely 256 or better. Now I'm wondering what it's like to have some 24-bit audio.

What are the best places to find this? The band I want to find the most is Radiohead, as they're one of my headphone test bands. Of course, Pink Floyd and Katie Melua are also on that list... Basically, the better the selection the happier I'll be. I thought I had seen something on the home page but when I went back it was gone.

Oh, and if anyone is curious about how the 8.A sounds with female vocals, check out Katie Melua's rendition of "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds". If that doesn't sell the headphones nothing will.

Where is the filter? What is the filter? Please let me know so I know what to avoid lol..

how deep is it inside?

The circle thing blocking the path is the filter. It might be different colors in different tubes.

HDTracks has some good stuff, but I've read that some of the music is up-sampled, as in not true high-rez music. Bowers & Wilkins has a sort of monthly music club with high rez downloads and this is something Jude recommends fwiw.

Radiohead will be hard to find in 24/96 unless you are willing to use torrent sites - there is a small community of people who like to do vinyl-to-flac rips on very expensive gear, but we all know file sharing is a no-no. Unfortunately for Radiohead, their music doesn't rate very highly in terms of dynamic range, so I don't know if having their catalog in a high-rez format would bring benefits worthy of the substantial increase in file size.

I read an interview about HDTracks, and the CEO/head stated that they will not label which tracks are remastered from originals and which are upsampled because "it would confuse the customer" !!!

His argument was that they would have to put some technical information about the process used to master... was the mastering from original tapes etc etc... 

It was at that point I stopped buying from HDTracks.

Wow. That's a very shady business practice that will not benefit them in the long term. How can any serious audiophile respect that ridiculous explanation? It's like they're begging people to use torrent sites...
