You should clean your ears regularly. Just don't stick things (Q-tips, pencils, soldering irons...) in the ear canal. If you need to get crud that's lodged deeper, buy a bottle of Debrox and follow the instructions carefully.

Cool. Thanks for the seal test. Will definitely take a look at that. Also, do you clean your ears? I've read online that one should not clean their ears because the wax is natural just make sure you rinse it with water. But I think I've seen a post in this thread where someone's wax may have clogged up their ciem tubes? Should I be worried?
You must also take into consideration that some people gain ear wax much faster than other people. I do clean my ears every other day as I do not gain ear wax that fast.post #5823 of 72993/5/13 at 3:55pm- FullCircle

On topic: I received my 8.A yesterday (after paying $322 for customs and fees ;) ) and the first impression is that they fit in great, the seal is there, even when I open and close my mouth or move my head and the sound is very good (only listened for a couple of seconds). Will do more extensive listening to well known material today.
Now my question:
Is it recommended to burn in the 8.A, or is it just mumbo jumbo? I know almost everyone does it, but same goes for rubbing credit cards and coins if they weren't accepted by the machine for the first time.;)

OMG $322 :(... I'm glad you are liking them though. I was very lucky and avoided fees :). I did burn them in for 1 night after I finished my marathon with them. I was a bit surprised by how much they changed. At least to my ears they continued changing past 45 hours.post #5830 of 72993/6/13 at 3:41am- ardgedee

Burn-in is more about the listener adapting to the sound than the device changing its sound.
That said, some manufacturers recommend burn-in for their IEMs, and since most of them source similar parts, I suspect that most IEMs can benefit from it some.post #5831 of 72993/6/13 at 3:43am- lee730

When listening to the 8As initially they sounded a bit hollow and quite congested. They opened up noticeably with usage and I don't think that is due to me getting accustomed to the sound :).post #5832 of 72993/6/13 at 3:47am- cravenz
