Since the orders are still done through the Heir webstore, just simulate your order there (take 5% of the price from the March promo for EU orders), choose the $29 delivery charge, convert the total amount to GBP and you're done. Remember that to take avantage of that 5% off promo, you need to contact Heir costumer service...

Ehhh

Hold up on the shipping fee, as those fees are yet to be determined.   The 29$ is the USA fee.

Sorry, working that out right now

Wait I am confused. You got a 6week delay with Chinese customs through sending it with normal Royal Mail!??!! I got told today in the post office it would be at max six days. NOOOO

Those people are not Chinese lol.  Though 6 weeks might be a bit excessive, it was around 3 weeks or so for me last time (some electronics components, not CIEM). Surprisingly Royal Mail quoted a maximum 5 day delivery in their website, and that was a recorded package.

Well the DAC in the UHA-6S MKII generally speaking isn't a half bad sounding DAC. It's by far better sounding then my crappy onboard laptop DAC or any DAC my DAP's possess. The closest I have that can match the Leckerton CLAS combo would be the HiSound Studio V but the UI on the thing you have to be forgiving because it's partially flawed. Once you learn the workarounds though it becomes a workable UI and you begin to enjoy the player. If you're really serious about a better DAC and want to stay portable and going balanced doesn't interest you don't get the CLAS -db get the non balanced version. Also, I was part of the VentureCraft Socket DD DAC tour and that also paired well with my amps and my gear. A bit of a warning though the output on the Socket DD is louder so your headroom with the Leckerton becomes reduced.

Directly comparing the UM Merlin vented hybrid with the 8.A made me put the Merlin up for sale - and I freakin' loved the Merlin.

I've demoed the Merlin and feel the Heir 8.A is what the UM Merlin tried to achieve. smile.gif

Only 400 $ more expensive, so a difference is to be hoped...

Not trying to start a flame war, but to me, there's a difference in the presentation of bass between dynamic drivers and balanced armatures. I'm not arguing that the 2 CIs found in the 8a can't match the bass performance of the merlin's 10mm dynamic driver, I'm just saying that its gonna sound slightly different.

Hence, I wanna hybridbiggrin.gif
