He's also not a doctor and not a lisenced Audiologist. However, he was trained by the Sensaphonics Golden Circle. Should I trust this guy or look somewhere else? 

     If I had to guess, that is probably the "fly in the ointment."  There is a "history" between Audiologist and self made experts that sell hearing aids. Audiologist are required 8 years of college, hearing aid dealers, a GED and no felony record.  In fact, the requirements to be a Tattoo artist are more strict....   

Thus Audiologist and Hearing Aid Dealers do not "mix" well and when an oppertunity arrises that a disparaging comment can be offered about one or the other....  it usually is.

I really enjoyed the 4.Ais, they aren't perfect, but a very enjoyable IEM to use.  I can definitely see why people would love them.  The detailing and unoffensive signature is beautifully crafted allowing great retrieval without having to force them at the listener.  Treble relaxes down, but still has strong detailing in the upper range while a tight impactful punch rounds off the entire presentation.  Although with weakness (mainly upper-midrange vocals as well as lower-treble presence and detailing), these IEMs impressed me much.

Yea. He wasn't very happy when I told him I'd rather go to a doctor instead. He just said good luck with your A.ud in a mean way. Whatever. I'm not going to that guy because he called Heir Audio consumer grade level and "not that great". That was enough for me to look elsewhere. 

While that's certainly not warranted, you can't really expect him to know who Heir audio is...

After reading some of the last few posts I'm starting to wonder if there's such a thing as an audiologist in Canada who can make a CIEM mold without screwing it up. Right now I'm thinking of forgoing the original audiologist I was going to ( I was going to go to JayMitch's guy) and maybe take a chance on another audiologist office in my city.

Doctor, I've reread the pdf instructions a few times trying to understand exactly whats needed. From what I'm gathering the mold has to completely cover the whole outer ear completely (Targus, Fosa Concha, all the way through to the Tragus) to ensure a proper mold, correct? So basically I should tell the audiologist to just paste the goop all over the outer ear, correct? Another question, exactly how wide should the mouth be when getting my molds done? I'm probably going to have to bring my own bite block so I need to know.

Re: Bite block. You should have your mouth open about an inch wide. That should allow them to keep their seal even while speaking to someone or while eating. The two-inch recommendations that I've read from some other manufacturers are generally directed at emotive singers who tend to really open wide on some of their stronger notes. I'm pretty sure that an inch or so will do you just fine.
