Sorry about the typos and all that
My 4.a's arrived this week
I won't try and talk about the sound as many others on here have described it far better than I can. I did want to say a couple of things though.
The image above has the crown logo on it. This wasn't exactly what I wanted as there was some confusion on my order form. I informed Sunny and my right CIEM was remade with the Heir Audio text that I wanted - excellent customer service and I want to thank all at Heir Audio for being understanding on this.
These things insert DEEP! Far deeper than my merlins and to begin with I was concerned but I quickly got used to it. In the end the fit is better than my merlins!
I was surprised by the impact and quantity of bass. From what I'd read I wasn't expecting it but I have been pleasantly surprised.
So far I'm very pleased and they have achieved what I wanted in giving me a sound sig that is different enough to my merlins for me to justify shelling out a load more cash. Next year I just have to find a nother reason for buying my next set of CIEM's - whatever they may be!
For those in the UK wondering about import duty. I got these at the end of the early promotion for $450. I ended up paying £82 sterling when I collected them from UPS.
Wow those look nice! What color is the shell? It's hard to tell.
Thanks
It's an amber shell. The wood is siamese rosewood - I asked for "dark rosewood" if possible. I think they have made the amber slightly darker than standard to look better with the rosewood? I love em!
Congrats! They do look great!

Holy crap, those are gorgeous.
The color of the shell is perfect; the shell looks like a continuation of the wood, as if the whole CIEM was made of wood.
I agree, the color and wood combination is perfect. I actually like the crown better than the text in this instance. It's more subtle and doesn't takeaway from the beauty of the CIEMs.
They nailed the heir audio text too - its done in a sort of burnt orange colour so it remains very subtle (i'd try and take a photo but it wouldn't do it justice) I've gotta give it to tHeir designers - they know what they're doing!
Those look very beautiful indeed. The housings are a perfect continuation of the wooden faceplates, and the Heir Audio logo looks like it's carved into the wood with the way it's colored in the photo. Very aesthetically pleasing for sure.
I remember a while back, Heir Audio talked about their new smaller case. I don't know if anyone took any pictures, but the case itself is only slightly larger than the Otterbox 1000 series case that came with my Aurisonics... I have 6 pictures below to show off their differences:
tinyman, is there enough room in the case for the iems and a small portable player and amp? Thanks.
It'll be a tight fit... The internal dimensions of the case is: 100 mm x 25 mm x 60 mm. The only portable players I have on me are the iPod Touch 5G along with my phone. None of them will fit in the case :p The only amp I have is the Fiio E1.
Depends what small portable player you mean. My Clip Zip, IEMs, and extra tips/cleaner fit perfectly.
Thanks for the dimensions tinyman! I have a fuze but I'm also getting customs. Just wanted to get a rough size as I wouldn't want to waste money buying a case for portable use, if the new Heir cases will do the job.
