The more expensive toys I buy the more I realize it's worth the money to just get the spend the extra where necessary, to get the upgrades, and splurge just a little. The difference tends to come back to you in terms of quality and longevity in a way that can't easily be matched simply by saving money the first time around.
Which is, as it happens, why I just bought a Magnus-1 for my 4.A's. On a related note, the fine folks a Heir Audio are awesome to deal with.
