What I like about the Zircote is the black marbeling that runs through it, reminds me of chocolate fudge ice cream....  which I haven't had in about 7 years....  (I miss America)

Now what you can do is chip off a piece of that $2k table and send me some ear mold impressions for you wife!

I really liked the Ebony but I like this Ziricote alot better.  It is hard to see but the grains in the wood actually appear to shimmer in the light.

Looks gorgeous. Tempted for wood too... which reminds me, I gotta send my 4.A back in for socket maintenance now that I'm finished with the tour comparisons.

After exactly four weeks to the day that Heir Audio received my impressions, I was recently greeted with a most pleasant email from Sunny stating that my 4.A was complete.  I went with the same color/wood scheme of the 4.Ai (Black Mamba/Amboyna Burl) cause.. well.. I fell in love with it the moment I feasted my eyes on it (and, actuallycanticipated the scheme even before the 4.Ai was revealed).  I'll have photos once I receive them in person, but here are the very professional, highly detailed snaps from Heir Audio.  Absolutely gorgeous work from The Wizard & co. (click on the photos for the full size) :

The deep purple shells looks sleek, liquid, and stunning.. and the Burl is mesmerizing as ever.  I'm gonna have a hard time attempting to listen to these since I'll probably just stare and drool at them when they're in my grubby little hands (soon enough).

Heir Audio Anouncement:

Since the inception of Heir Audio, we have gone through two cycles of Amboyna Burl.  Meaning, we ran out, and I purchased more while I was in Thailand 4 months back.

The first batch of Amboyna Burl was fairly red to orange color. The second batch was more of a brownish color. We are essentially out of the second batch, and I have purchased litterally a 50lb log of burl wood. (third cycle)

The new wood is simply jaw dropping beautiful and i look forward to using it. But be prepared for different shades of colors, as they will be. This is the nature of wood, and in way this is what makes Heir Audio as unique as it is.

So stay tuned, for more photos, of great woodies.

Ordered amboyna burl for my 4.A's about 3 weeks ago. Will it have the 3rd batch of the wood?

Maybe, I know that is not a clear answer, but as I said before, we are "essentially out."  That means we are almost out, but even if we are out the new wood is gorgeous, and I look forward to using it.
