Hay Head-Fi. 

 

How about the Sony Playstation SCPH-1001? $15 used, if you can't just convince somebody to give it to you outright. The sound is colored with a forward midrange but it puts out a rather lush sound. The system it's a part of includes a DIY Haller passive shunt, $22 in parts from Radioshack and an Audiosource Amp100, $89-$99 new. It drives older Monitor Audios. Seems my whole main system is.. uh, cheap D:
