I can't decide: srh840 vs srh750dj

I really prefer closed headphones over open because I want the best Isolation and I prefer no sound leakage. I enjoy listening to electronic music and enjoy playing Battlefield 3. I am wondering which one of these two has good bass and has good clarity for games. I have done a lot of research and it is pretty mixed between the two. They are really close to the same price, $110 (750dj) vs $130 (840), so at this point, I am kind of unsure what to pick.

Thanks.

So does anyone happen to have these or know about them?

have both now, 840 is more neutral. 750 has very good bass and are fun headphones.

Shure srh840 no doubt.

I owned both and i kept the srh840.

The srh750 has lots of bass but the highs can be harsh. They are also very cheaply built and i was always afraid of snapping them. The srh840 though still made of plastic feels more sturdy. The shure srh840 is more versatile and dynamic.

I find the srh840 much more comfortable so i think it would be better for gaming. Sound wise they both have a small sound stage so just choose whichever one you want. The srh750dj has more bass so if that's what you want i recommend it but i find them to be nowhere near as good as the srh840.

Do you know of a good headphone with a wider sound stage?

Your not going to get a wider sound stage unless you go open back.

I was thinking of open back, but didn't want the leaking of sound. Are there any that don't leak much at med-high volumes?

So closed backs dont give that "surround" type of feeling where you can hear locations and such? Maybe I am not clear on what soundstage means. I don't have much experience with headphones so I am pretty noob at this.

Sound stage makes it easier to hear things positioned properly. In your case you will hear gun shots happening around you while you game. You don't need a massive sound stage for this but it helps. Closed backs will give you separation but it won't sound as airy or spacious if that makes sense.

So would getting this http://www.amazon.com/Force-Channel-Dolby-Surround-Processor-Mac/dp/B003O0KICS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1323559623&sr=8-1 work well, or you don't know if it does anything for closed ear? Also would getting a dedicated sound card like http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Channel-Sound-Card-XONAR_DG/dp/B0045JHJSS provide the same effect? I would prefer to have nice sound stage but closed headphones at the same time such as the 750 or 840's.

Get the AD700's. They seem to fit you perfect...the only issue of course will be leaking, and if that's a huge problem then I can't assist you with closed types.
