Beyerdynamic DT 990 32 ohm or 250 ohm with an amplifier?

Is there a noticeable difference in sound quality between these headphones? I will be listening from a portable device (iphone and ipad).  I typically listen to instrumental (classical and jazz) and will watch movies.  I am trying to keep the price under $400 US. Thoughts?

The 250 Ohm one is slightly clearer in general and has more extended treble (not necessarily a good thing for everyone), but the differences are not large. Note that you can also get it (but not the 32 Ohm one) in "Pro" version that is much cheaper - leaving money for an amplifier, although it does not look as good, has a more clamping headband, and a coiled cord (the drivers are the same, however).

Honestly for me, the 32ohm Beyers need amping almost as much as the 600ohm. A different type of amp (ones that work better with low impedances), but still one with some form of good power.
Anyways, check this thread:
