Upgreading my Sennheiser HD 203 to Shure SRH440?

        Hi

I want to upgrade my Sennheiser HD 203 witch I use for listening to music outside. I listen to rock (50%), rap and hip hop (30%) and others except classical music. I look for something clearer, neutral, with better bass because in the case of HD 203 although the bass is not a very strong one it has sometimes the tendency to overcome the mids and highs and the clarity suffers, the music becoming muddy.

        My budget is around 100$.

After reading the forum and the reviews on different headphones on Amazon, I ended up with  Sennheiser HD 439, 449 and Shure SRH440.

I also own a pair of Sennheiser HD 555 wich I found exceptional on everything (comfort, soundstage, lows, mids, highs, clarity).

Yesterday I was able to listen to the HD 439 and HD 429 (I understand that they are very much like the HD 449). They both sucked at comfort side, the pads made my years sweat in less than 10 minutes. The 429 had clarity, but was  too bright, with absolutely no bass; I am far from a basshead, I like neutral headphones, but neutral means that bass should be there. The 439 had little less clarity than 429, was also pretty bright despite that the bass was decent. Anyway I did not consider that one of them could be a major upgrade over my hd 203 given that the price was double.

Can someone who listened to the Shure SRH440 how these compare in the terms of bass with the Sennheiser HD 203, 429, 439 or 555, after the burn period?

I wait for any other suggestions.

If you can use them for 2 hours than it's ok since 90% of the time I won't need them for periods longer than 1 hour. I read that the pads of Shure SRH840 are more comfortable so if I wont like the stock ones I might buy those.
