Hi all I own a pair of denon c751 and want to upgrade but want somthing that will blow these sets away as i want a good upgrade.   I want somthing IE and cuts out background noise, I was looking at the Westone UM3X or Westone UM2 but i dont know which is better over my current headset.

Can anyone recomend a good jump in upgrade or is there otheres out there that are better then the westones ? I like all sorts of music i dont have a preference i just like all types and all my music are 320Kbps or FLAC thanks

or what about the Ultimate Ears Triple fi 10 Earphones ? i just dont know what to pick

Hi there

Well I don't really know as I listen to all kinds of music eg. Vocal, hip hop, dance, rock.  To be honest I just listen to everything.

I like the denons but I want more from my music something that will be much better and controlled than the denons something that will make my music sound twice as good as I have now

I would like to mproce on highs, mids andl lows  base I want to be able to get clean more real life sound.

I am sorry that I can not explain myself but I am not a pro but I do love music and want a good upgrade as I own a iphone4s and listen to alot of music on it

I also travel alot and want good sound isolation to

Thanks

In that case then and if you do not have a budget in mind i highly recommend the Earsonics SM3 or the Westone 4 as very good all rounders and both are significant improvement over the denon .

thanks. would the W3 be a hugh upgrade to is there much in it from the W3 to the W4 ?

id have guessed the W3 would be more suitable, W4 really should be called UM4

I suggest the w4 or sm3 as they are a huge upgrade over the denons and are much better controlled which is what  MERIDIUS mentioned he was after, the w3 has a very sibilant treble with the wrong tips or fit and the bass can sound bloated at times ,but yes it is more v shaped (treble and bass emphasized ) than the w4 or sm3 , but both can be eqed to be v shaped very easily and sound better with better control than w3.Oh and both sm3 and w4 are much better all rounders , ie better suited to all types of music than the w3 imo.

I had the Denon's for a while and very much liked them, I would not go the triple.fi route as to my ears everything is a little bloated and exaggerated , it think that must be a Jerry Harvey trait!
