Need help choosing an inexpensive headphone amp for my (future) Denon D2000s

Hi!

So for Christmas I'm getting myself a new pair of Denon AH-D2000s

Last year I bought them off thomann.de/dk but the plastic that holds the earcup broke from an awful fall, but luckily I got them fully refunded, but then it didn't seem like top priority to find a new pair.

I'm going to pair them up with a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 for home recording (guitar / vocal), but seeking a headphone amp to get the denons going, and also just for the audio library.

From what I understand, from various of searches here on head-fi.org, is that the D2000's got such a low impandance, that they don't need much of an amp to drive them, just that they DO need an amp.

Next searching for inexpensive amps in the range of  $0-300 / DKK1500 seems very promising, the only flaw is that I live in Denmark, and all the head-fi famous amps are nowhere to be found here.

So..

Can anyone help me find a good, but cheap amp within europe, that can drive my future Denons?

Kind regards Christian Boysen!

well,i am not so that exepert in giving advances ,not because of my experiences, but because where i live, where the is no headphone highfidelity market and co.,but from what ca n i say, with 300 (dollars?) there is not much you can do at high level, anyway you told you wont need, and there still medium-fi amp in that range (more medium-low - fi) like some

fiio ,nuforce, total bithead, and a few more.im going to buy a fiio E10 with a grado sr80i and then,a v-moda M100 (if it wont be too much expensive),from what i did read about ,is a good amplifier for his price range,i believe in europe for about what,100-120 euros?

maybe keep searching on-line,it does must be  a problem as is not a 2000 euros amplifier you look for!

good luck

Thanks a lot, i'll look into it all - Well yes, I'm not looking for anything hi-fi, mostly because I heard that the Denons wont reallly benefit much from a better amp, than say a little dot 1+, or even a cmoy, but either is hard to come buy here in europe, although the little dot 1+, seems to drive low impendance headphones very well.

So I've looked a bit more, and it seems this Meier-Audio Corda Jazz is quite well built, and the company is from Germany, so tax and shipment would not be a problem

http://www.meier-audio.homepage.t-online.de/jazz.htm

Does anyone know if it's overkill to purchase such an amp for the Denons, and will the low impendance of the Denons cause any problems with the amp (sound-wise)?

kind regards - Christian Boysen

niiicee.....seems a good amp,and the price seem the value within your range.

if you refer about overcharge the electricity of your HP i dont thing it could be happening, but it is better if you could confirm that.

would be nice if some expert from here could give us an impression about the site and the manufacturer.

good luck!

Actually I found a UK distributor of the Matrix M-stage, which seems better than the Jazz (bang/buck-wise that is), and also another amp called the Schiit Asgard - and for considerably less! if no one stops me, I'm going to place my purchase on that one - Then I just need to figure out, whether I need to use TS to RCA cable for my Scarlett 2i2 (http://www.thomann.de/dk/cordial_cfu_03_pc.htm), or use some expensive RCA to RCA cable and then use 2 RCA female / 1/4" jack TRS adapters. the latter seems quite hard to come by, also the balanced part of the TRS monitor out on the Scarlett 2i2 audio interface seems kinda useless now that the M-stage uses the RCA ouput - or am I missing something?

Im in the same boat as you, i also have the Denon 2000. Im getting the Fiio E11 + E9 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/FiiO-E11-bundle-Headphone-Amplifier/dp/B006KORF26) on Amazon.

It is difficult getting Amps in Ireland, i guess its similar for Denmark!

The E7/E9 work fine with them. There's a friend who owns this combo.

Cool! - I'm settling for the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (for recording also) and then the Matrix M-stage, since it's just perfect for my needs! I'm so looking forward to see how it all sounds
