Question about HT Omega Claro Halo

Hello all, I've decided to stop putting up with my crap quality on-board audio and go all out. My first purchase is the HT Omega Claro Halo. I'll be using Bose AE2 headphones (don't hit me) for now. I am obviously new to all this and I have a question. I use headphones exclusively but my wife uses the set of Bose Companion 2 Series 1 speakers we have. Will I be able to keep these speakers hooked up with this sound card? They don't have to work perfectly, just so she can still use them for Youtube etc. Any input would be greatly appreciated! smily_headphones1.gif

Thanks for replying! I'm just assuming that I can hook my speakers up to the RCA hookups on the card and use the headphone out for my headphones. Like you said, I'll just switch outputs when needed. The only thing I was worried about is I don't have an amp or anything for the small speakers. I'm a newbie but I thought this type of high end card might require me to use an amp.

the amp is only off the headphone jack

the rca, analog outputs share the same op amps, but are not powered, so yes you will need a external amp to drive outbound speakers

hope I answered your question lol, im confused

Would it be possible for me to just use an RCA to 3.5mm converter and plug my speakers into the headphone jack? Or would that not be a good idea? Technically it's a 2 piece stereo set of speakers. I know it's made for headphones but as long as it wouldn't damage anything, i would just do that.

just use the analog output,   rca converter to 3mm, assuming your set if powered

if they are passive (the speakers that is, ie NON powered), then it would NOT be a good idea, mechanically and or sonically to run them off the headphone amp output
