okay. so I'm totally new to these headphones. Ive been playing piano for ~12 years now and guitar ~3/4. Im in need of headphones. I'm tired of earbuds breaking. Im mostly going to use these for my iPod/phone/laptop. i will use them for my home recordings.

what I'm looking for

1. im assuming closed backs. Ill be using these on the bus, etc. (correct me if I'm wrong there)

2. Something that will fold up (preferably in a case. also the ability to take the cord out from the headphones would be wonderful.)

3.will suit rock. I listen to rock, rock, and more rock. Classic, hard, alt, speed, a tiny metal, and then more rock. (GNR, Led Zedplin, ACDC, Metallica) i listen do dubstep a little, but these will really need to work for rock.

4. look somewhat cool.

5. under (preferibly) $80, but $100 might work. (its for Christmas :P)

Id like something with a decent warranty too. Thanks for the help guys. Ive seen the AKG k240, i almost got the V MODA Crossfade lp but i heard they won't suit rock well, but hip hop or techno. Ive heard Alessandro MS1 and Grado SR 60/80 and the only thing holding me back is 1. they're not closed back, and 2, they have two cords coming from the headphones and are not detachable.

thanks guys!
